Help - Web Video Viewer

The webvideo viewer shows a list of webvideos from the internet mainly from YouTube that can be sorted and filtered to find what you want to play.

Press RED (F1) to sort the list by Name or Number

Press GREEN (F2) to filter the list by category.

The default webvideo list has just one list of webvideos but it could have several different ones if required (for example each member of the family can have a different list). You can switch lists by pressing MENU (M) and choose the Switch Web Video List option.

The default list is maintained by me and MythQML will pull updates from the MythQML web server. When new or updated webvideos are detected and the Web Video Viewer is first shown it will show a popup dialog announcing what the new and updated webvideos are.

How do I find new webvideos

Any new webvideos will have icon in the top right of the webvideo picture. You can also filter the list to show only the new webvideos. Press GREEN (F2) Show (All Web Videos) and choose the New category from the list of categories.

    How do I add/remove a webvideo

At the moment the list of webvideos are stored in XML files and can't be changed in the user interface. The default lists come from example files stored on the MythQML web server but you can edit your own files and tell MythQML where to find them in the Feed Source settings.

    Known Problems

Some videos can sometimes fail to play because they have been moved or removed (this is especially true for YouTube videos).

    TODO

  • Make the lists of webvideos user editable

  • Experiment with a tree view to help find a webvideo

  • Add a way to search for a webvideo
